Former DOKKEN Bassist Begins Work On New WAR & PEACE CD
January 6, 2003Former DOKKEN and current L/P bassist Jeff Pilson has commenced work on a new WAR & PEACE album, tentatively due in late 2003.
"I'm starting to talk to people about a new WAR & PEACE record which I've already begun recording," Pilson wrote on his official web site. "Finding 'spare' time has been difficult, to say the least, but I think I'd like to release this a few months after L/P. Even with so little time, the progress has been smooth and it's a lot of fun! I've got 8 songs written, 4 recorded, no real deadlines yet. My plan would be to bring in guitarists again to do solos, and there are a few more guys I have in mind this time who seem willing and able. These are some very strong songs, not too far away from where L/P is [written right after we got done so I was on a roll!]."
A semi-solo act, WAR & PEACE has previously been described by Pilson as "a fun/spare time outlet for my melodic rock songs. It's kind of become the vehicle that DOKKEN was for me writing-wise, but with less distraction." The group's last album, 2001's "Light At The End of The Tunnel", featured guest appearances by James Kottak (KINGDOM COME, SCORPIONS),Reb Beach (DOKKEN, WINGER),John Norum (EUROPE, DOKKEN),Paul Gilbert (RACER X, MR. BIG),John Levin (WARLOCK, DOKKEN),and Richie Kotzen (POISON, MR. BIG).
